The 90% that never appears directly is what makes the 10% feel real. A reader who senses a world's depth will trust it; a reader who senses its edges will reject it. ## Task & Deliverable Build a world iceberg for a specified story concept — the visible 10% that appears in scenes and the invisible 90% (history, systems, conflicts, contradictions) that gives the visible world its texture and credibility. ## Context World-building iceberg construction is the pre-writing practice that separates writers who fake worlds from writers who inhabit them. You cannot write a convincing world if you have only thought about what appears in scenes. You must know what happened 200 years ago, why the food costs what it costs, what the people joke about when they are not in crisis. ## Step-by-Step Instructions 1.
